Is Smartsupp free? The Free plan and the Mira trial
Yes, Smartsupp is free on the Free plan, but without AI: the plan covers live chat for 25 conversations a month across the widget, WhatsApp and Messenger combined, 1 operator and 14 days of history (Smartsupp pricing, checked October 20, 2026). Automated messages count toward that limit.
Mira AI is not part of the Free plan, but it can be added to it as an add-on. To start, Smartsupp gives 10 free Mira conversations with real visitors and 25 more after you complete onboarding, with no credit card.

According to Smartsupp's help article on limits, moving to any paid plan removes the 25-conversation limit immediately. The free chatbot by Roition, in turn, needs a prepaid OpenAI account, with a minimum top-up of $5.
Smartsupp pricing 2026: plans and the Mira AI add-on
The 2026 Smartsupp pricing has five live chat plans, from Free at $0 to Ultimate from $280 a month, and Mira AI is an add-on to any plan, including Free, from $16 per 100 conversations. Prices exclude VAT, which depends on the billing country, and paid plans have a 14-day trial with no card.

Mira is sold in packages of 100 conversations, from 100 to 5,000 a month. Smartsupp's help center says the per-conversation price is the same whichever live chat plan you have. Above 5,000 conversations, Smartsupp asks you to contact it for a custom plan.
The lowest-cost Smartsupp setup with AI is the Free plan plus Mira for 100 conversations: $16 a month, or $192 a year on annual billing. The Plus plan for 3 operators with Mira for 100 conversations is $41 a month on annual billing and $55 on monthly billing.
How Smartsupp counts a Mira conversation and what happens at the limit
Smartsupp counts a Mira conversation as a unique visitor session, regardless of the number of messages, and once the package is used up, Mira stops responding until the 1st of the next month or until you buy more conversations.
A session ends a few minutes after the visitor leaves the site, and when the same visitor returns later, a new conversation starts and is counted again (Smartsupp's help article on limits).
- The Mira counter resets on the 1st day of each calendar month.
- As you approach the limit, Smartsupp sends an email, and extra conversations can be bought in the dashboard; per the help center FAQ, the amount charged depends on the time left until the plan renews.
- Once the limit is used up, Mira stops responding while live chat keeps working. The pricing page does not describe automatic overage charges.
- Whether a conversation handed over to an operator uses up the Mira limit: not stated on the website or in the help center.
The free chatbot by Roition does not count conversations: the cost depends on the number of messages and the length of replies, and OpenAI bills it.
When the OpenAI account runs out of credit or the project's hard spend limit kicks in, the customer sees the message "The assistant is temporarily unavailable", and the account owner gets an email from us.
What Mira costs at 100, 300 and 1,000 conversations, and what OpenAI tokens cost
At 100 AI conversations a month, Mira costs $16 on annual billing, and at 1,000 conversations $160. OpenAI tokens for the same conversations in the free chatbot by Roition come to a typical $0.32-8.10 a month by our estimate, depending on traffic and conversation length (full range $0.26-10.60).

Mira currently does not learn directly from conversations and does not create tickets in Freshdesk or Zendesk; after a handover it sends the transcript and contact details by email (Mira FAQ). The dashboard of the free chatbot by Roition shows conversations, knowledge gaps and popular questions.
Smartsupp on Shoper, IdoSell, PrestaShop and WooCommerce
Smartsupp lists integrations with Shoper, IdoSell, PrestaShop and WordPress among more than 60 integrations, and the feed export guides for Mira cover Shoper, PrestaShop and WooCommerce, but not IdoSell. The integration descriptions refer to live chat and chatbot, while the app in the Shoper App Store has Mira AI in its name and description.
Mira needs an XML feed of its own; the feed export guides also cover Magento, but not Shopify.

Smartsupp is run by Smartsupp.com, s.r.o. of Brno, Czechia, a member of ABUGO Group; according to its About page, Smartsupp was founded in 2013 (Smartsupp website). On its pricing page Smartsupp states more than 100,000 customers, and its sub-processor list names OpenAI Ireland Ltd., used for AI features.
On its chatbot page Smartsupp states GDPR compliance and that all data is stored only within the EU. We do not quote ratings from review sites because we have not tested Mira.
